    Out of country firearm

Is it possible to bring in a legal shotgun or rifle from out of the country? A friend of mine from the UK wants to bring in his shotgun (he's a US Citizen).

    Anyone know the procedure?

Actually, there are some ways to get it in. The BATFE allows a FFL to do a limited import without a import license. This is only for a limited number of items and limited to how many times a year you can do this. You can find the information on the BATFE web site. As for him bringing it in he should also check on the regs for a private party. But if all else fails he may be aable to ship to a freindly FFL and pick it up from them.
