do they used pretty much any AK mags or only Saiga mags? just trying to get something to put all my AK mags to use with..

They use only Saiga mags because of the guns lack of a feed ramp. There a vendors that sell feed ramps to convert Saigas to use AK mags, but then you may have a non-sporting arm issue with the BATF and 922r. The Saiga12 forums have lots of info about it.

Basically, you need to shorten the mag catch and install a feed ramp. Or you can grind the tab on the back of the mag and build up the front lip a little with something like JB weld or spot weld some metal onto it.

There have been a few rare cases where someone that had a saiga that worked with certain AK mags without moding the gun or the mag, but as stated, it is rare.

Only Master Molder Mags by Thermold inc will work on an unmodified Saiga.
They require about 5 minutes of filing and they work like a charm. This would of course only be your preban owned mags..of course.
