Serious Concerns Regarding FN SPR A1

Hello Everyone,

I just purchased my first bolt action rifle from Turners, specifically, the FN SPR A1 USPALM. I have not been able to find ANY information regarding this weapon on the internet, specifically on the USPALM, FN, or any other website for that matter.

I'm starting to get some serious anxiety and the feeling that Turners ripped me off with this thing and that it's not a true FN and I'm going to have all sorts of problems.

Can anyone shed some light on this thing?

EDIT: Ah, I see the "USPALM" part is an important thing to take note of. In that case, I have no idea.

Read the whole thread and make up your own mind on what to do. I've made some quick buys before too and have always regretted them later. I now do research and find all the info I can before I pull the trigger (pun intended) on any gun

When I was purchasing the rifle, they didn't even put the "USPALM" in the title. They fed me alot of BS at Turners, too keep it short, I didn't end up buying the rifle.

I made the same purchase. I read the available posts from different forums and even sent an email to uspslm/sgc. Needless to say, I got no response from them but from the looks of what ur getting, it seems like a good deal. FN action and barrel (heavy and threaded) and a McMillan stock. For $800 bucks! I'm pleased with it

Looks like a rifle with a McMillan A3 stock and FN SPR action for $800. I don't see how anyone is getting ripped off. The stock alone is worth over $600.

Currently on layaway but have visited it a couple times. I'll post some follow up reports once I get to shoot it. Searching for a comparable optic to place on it. Any suggestions? @ capt Any issues you've come across with yours? Im going solely on markings. Barrel is marked fn special police rifle and stock is marked McMillan on the pad. One thing I did notice that twist is marked 1:10 while the ad states 1:11.

That's a great price and having the barrel threaded is a nice touch. .

This is the "new version" FN SPR, I have the older version made in New Haven, CT. Stock is pretty much the same, but has a conventional magazine & floorplate while the new one has a box detach type. The older version has a conventional Winchester trigger, the new version has an updated trigger.

I've had mine for a few years, I paid a fair amount more than $800.00 for the darn thing (it had a little work done to it) but still really like the rifle.

The advert is probably a typo and it has a 1 - 10" twist, that's typical of a 308. I handload and use the Sierra 168 BTHP or Hornady AMax. I have a one piece base and a Weaver fixed 24X target scope. I know the scope isn't a "tacticool" type but it's clear and sharp and I got a great deal on price, just under $225.00 and no tax in NH.

Well, I did a little bit of research and some detective work. From what I've been told, the barrel itself is actually made by USPALM under contract by FN, so I guess technically is an FN barrel (). Also, the rifle is assembled by USPALM as well. I'm curious, I'm going to call FN once I get the rifle to see who exactly supports the warranty on the thing.

As for optics, I have my eye on one of two scopes: a Nikon Monarch (http://www.amazon.com/Monarch-Rifles...=1A4HNZUL1E2LZ) and a Bushnell Tactical (http://www.amazon.com/Bushnell-Tacti...=1A4HNZUL1E2LZ).

I figure I don't have the skills yet to go crazy and buy a super-high quality 24 power piece of glass and both scopes seem like a great buy.

You read the other threads, right? USPALM= Scottsdale gun club. Call them, their easy to deal with.
