    M1A owners...Help Needed!

I can't for the life of me open the compartment in the butt stock to store the cleaning kit. This is for a Socom II but I'm sure all M1A hinged butt stocks work the same. I attached a pic (sorry if its big, looks fine on my Android.)

Give it some real effort, they can at first be difficult.

Unscrew the entire assembly and make sure there isn't a metal burr inside. Then put some lubriplate on it and you should be GTG.

Use a flat head, thick punch, or some other tool to press the left clip in and it will pop right open.

Glad to help..just remember the lower screw is the longer of the 2 so it will hold in your rear sling loop in place..Glad to hear you fixed it
