Having trouble with front pivot pin- AR15

I am having trouble getting the front pivot pin all the way through my new upper on my AR15.

The detent is in properly, and before I had the upper, I had the pivot pin installed 100% in the lower with no problems. Now that I have installed my upper, it all almost all the way in. It looks like it needs to go in 1/32"-1/16". I lubed it with shooters choice. Any tricks to get it that last little bit?

If it goes all the way thru without the upper then it's the upper that's off spec.
You can true the hole with a 1/4" drill bit.
Yes you do it by hand. (upper only)
Small metal burr is usually the culprit.

I tried that very lightly. The bore is smooth.

... so pivot pin fits fine without the upper?
If so then the receiver lug is off spec.
Use the drill bit to true it up.
Take pivot pin out if needed.
This really is an easy fix.
            Good luck.
