What is the best way to mount a scope to a mosin Nagant and have it accurate and easy to zero

Rear sight base mounting I have heard is pretty easy.

I had one on my last mosin and maybe it was a bad brand but to get it parallel with the barrel I have to drill a hole in the sight base and add a bolt to push it to the straight position any recommendations on a good sight base scope mount ?

Good stuff for Mosin's, they have machined mounts that do not need drilling and tapping and completely reversible. Bottom line you will spend more for the mounts and scope than the cost of the rifle. I looked into it for my Finnish Mosin M39. After some range time the M39 was plenty accurate at 200 yds. with the iron sights.

The ATI two screw mount is the easiest to mount and use with a modern scope, the bent bolt can be a littel tricky with one supplied screw, I mill off stub and add second screw to make is solid mounting.

Nutnfancy did a review on a Brass Stacker scope mount and had nothing but good things to say about it. No modifications to the rifle needed and you can use your iron sights with it mounted.

slapped this on my Mosin and didn't have to drill anything and the cost was under $70 with the scope.

well the easiest way is to take off the rear sight, and get the mount
or..
you can take off the rear sight mount. much more difficult, more stable the number 1 you will need dove tail to picitany adapter.
or..
you can drill and tap your receiver.. the hardest of them all and not reversible.
or.. you can check back with me in about 1 week, when my testing should be down on a new mount i've designed. it will go over the reciever but no drilling or taping. = completely reversible

A good pistol scope forward mounted on it should work pritty good for up to about 100 yards just my 2 cents

I like mine a lot. Two words of caution. 1) The scope mount sits very high, which I actually like because you can still use the original iron sights. Takes a bit of getting used to having only my chin touching the stock rather than my cheek. 2) Use locktight when mounting- more likely to hold zero. Also BrassStacker has great costumer service. Kyle at BrassStacker was very helpful in answering all my NOB questions both before my purchase, and while I was installing the mount.

Mine has been doing fine at 50 yards so far. Have not yet had a chance to test at 100. Here's a pic at 50 yards from a bench after zeroing. The three shots in the Bullseye were normal right handed shots. I was so impressed that I switched over to lefty shots for the remaining 2 rounds in the magazine... and ruined my group

Ok so the mount is done, i need to go test it now,
testing will be done with a variety of scopes and red dots, at different distances,
and two 10 round rapid fire drills with 1min in between
