It may or may not hold its zero.

Some cheap scopes actually look fairly good, but if the internal mechanisms are junk, it won't hold zero.

There's a reason Tasco is called Trashco. Leapers & NcStar fit in the same category.

I'd buy a Tasco or Bushnell from wally world if just for you kid to plink with. You are on track for your application. I couldn't see buying my little one a Leupold .... he wouldn't know the difference. Even a little red dot to make things easier maybe. You get what you pay for and you make a little one happy. If you have the money to do it though...screw a leupold and go straight for a real scope like USO or Nightforce.

Seriously....your joking right? Stick with iron sights buddy if you can't afford a decent scope. Rule of thumb is at least 500 or half price of rifle. Which ever is higher. My hensoldt was 3.5k.

You may want to check out the Sightron line of scopes. Entry level is just a bit over $100. I was pleasantly surprised. Check out the reviews online.

All Leapers products are made in the deep dark Red zone of China.

Did you scope your MN with the ATI kit where you have to cut off your bolt handle?

I guess it`s the only way to mount a real scope on the MN. I`ve tried 2 brands of the scout mount and they`re all crap. I find it kind of atrocious to cut off, then drill tap and screw on the bolt handle. Did you see the welded bent bolt conversions that are offered on ebay for like 35 bucks?

A good scope won't break even if dropped off the roof.

Look into the Nikon Buckmaster line for about $200. Even the ProStaff will do OK, but the Buckmaster is really worth the increase in price.

ARE YOU SERIOUS?........ were talking about an eight year old here. And you make yourself look like an a** hole when you say "i spent 3.5k on my scope."

To the OP, just get a bushnell. It sounds like the gun is for simple fun and plinking, not castrating squirrels at 2 miles like Mr. Money Bags in the above quote. Have fun with your son. I know he will.
