I am waiting for some AK guy to chime in about being able to hit his AK with a hammer all day long and it runs great.

It was made in some communist country... so you probably have to hit it with a hammer to get it to run. That's what they call love, comrade.

It seems the OP doesn't quite understand how strong steel is. It's not plastic, it's not going to deform if you step on it or kick it. It's built to contain part of the blast of the .223 round, you're not going to hurt it without a couple tons of weight or a blowtorch.

Stepping on flash hiders to disable a GIs rifle was common practice by the viet congs. Cause devastating casualties and was the main reason we withdrew from southeast Asia.

Was the flash hider MP/HP tested? Is it full auto spec?

As long as it was on carpet you should be GTG. Anything else and you probably ruined it.

Don't be so sure that carpet is safe ...
