First AR - new PWS MK116 with pics

Well after the ever-so-fun 10 day wait, I just brought home my first AR. I'll be taking it to the range this weekend, so I'll be able to give a range report then. First impressions on the rifle are that I'm very pleased with the fit and finish. I can't wait to take it out and run some rounds through her. Next up on the list will be some optics for her, but I'll be fine with the irons until then.

I believe I was out the door for around $1950 give or take a few bucks. I don't have my receipt with me, and I'm trying to blank out the memory of money leaving my account .

That is a hell of a first AR15. Congrats.

That's a nice gun. But even more, an interesting roll mark. I wonder how companies come up with their roll marks. I think I need to figure mine out.

Their mark comes form the iconic sign for cannon, today used to mean piece of artillery in military contexts. The symbol also was used to represent iron in old chemistry

Pretty cool piece of historical information

Heck yeah, thanks! I didn't know that.

Also, what kind of rail covers are those? They look cool.

Yeah, I thought that was pretty awesome information myself . The rail covers are the Larue tactical index clips. I did a lot of checking around to decide what kind of rail covers I wanted to get. These are great because they are single clips, so you can remove only the ones you need when attaching accessories. They are also extremely comfortable to grip.

So it's normal to do this?

And you can get the clips directly from Larue Tactical:

                              Hope that helps
