SAR 8 Questions

Howdy Fellow Gun Enthusiasts,

I'm looking at a Greek SAR 8 with an EBO serial number 09XXX.
Any idea when it was made?
What's the skinny on ban, pre-ban and 922r? I don't want to go down a money pit to be compliant. The stock has a wide vented hand guard, palm swell pistol grip, standard butt. The intel I've turned up is that Greek produced SAR 8s are pre-ban and Springfield provided kits to replace the thumb hole furniture. Then there's our Kali issues that needs addressed. I'm thinking fixed CETME 5 round mag for compliance. Thanks fellas, PAX

SAR 3 / 8 Is a bad mother ( shut your mouth ) but I’m only talking bout the SAR 3 & 8 ( may be overstamped.

Heavy, kicks a bit, but reliable and durable!

Good $$$ if it’s a G3 over stamp. Even more if it says G3 and no corrective over stamp.

Also those SA SAR’s are built on the same tooling as the H&K 91’s. If I remember right the Greek mfg / SA acquired the tooling / blueprints and ran a couple in it.

It’s a very good rifle, heavy but good, and that H&K slap 😁

Almost forgot on the SAR 8’s the false flash suppressor is welded to the end of the barrel.

SAR 3 follows the original eq.

The cuts on the muzzle device were even soldered in and where the muzzle device met the barrel it was welded on the SAR 8.
