    No more Poverty Pony lowers

Looks like the days of decent, cheap(ish) AR-15 lowers is inching closer to being over

Sturm, Ruger & Company has bought Anderson Manufacturing.

I feel things are going to be real cheap while we have Trump. I haven't seen prices like this since GB2...or ever actually. I think it's as good as it going to get right now. Although i do miss those $150 AK kits.

I have three Anderson lower builds. They are now collector items and worth a ton!

There is a new 10.5 AM15 pistol sitting at LGS for $458.00. Do I pull the trigger?
And did PSA steal the thunder from Anderson, and Delton?

I have an Anderson AR lower. It's rare collector's item. $500. No lowballers, I know what I have.

How do Andersons compare with Palmetto? 3 pack for $115. What do most of you consider a good mil spec lower?

Their lowers are perfectly fine. $115 for 3 is a great price for Anderson lowers. PSA has cornered the market on all kinds of cool stuff that can't be found anywhere else and, while their prices keep people talking crap about them, they actually churn out a perfectly acceptable product, for their target audience. They're not White Oak or SOLGW or anything, but they work just fine for what they're intended for. I've got a bunch of all mentioned.

I have one lower. It works fine. I prefer the Rifle Gear lowers. They are made by Mega and have a great magwell. They are $100.

Based on the dozen or so ARs I have assembled, I honestly see very little difference in doing a build with a $35 lower versus a $500 lower. To me, a lower is just a box that holds the LPK and mag. If the lower can
hold a magazine and hold the trigger in spec, it's doing its job. I'm sure a machinist could educate me about how I am clueless but looking at results, for how most people shoot and use their AR, I say buy whatever
is on sale. My exception was always Aero Precision lowers, I constantly see warnings on various items how they are NOT compatible with Aero lowers.

I recall in my early AR days of assembling, isn't it true that all of the lowers on the market are really only made by three or four actual manufacturers, kind of like car parts are sometimes? Just different roll marks and branding?
