Ruger PCC 9 Bolt Stop Spring

Was cleaning my PCC 9 tonight. Flipped the receiver upside down and my bolt stop flew to the ground. Reassembled my carbine and realized I am missing the bolt stop spring.

Where can I get a replacement. OR is there a similar spring from the AR15 that would work?

    Part #55.

There are no springs exactly like that on a typical AR.
i know that spring but i would have to go take my PC9 apart to measure it.
mcmaster or century spring will have a similar spring.

Unfortunately I dont know the size of the spring to order from McMaster / Century.

I wonder if it's the same spring in the 10/22?

I will try Ruger Customer Service.

Ruger PCC9 bolt stop spring measurements:
        0.107" OD
        0.780" free length.
        0.425" coil bind length
        0.020"ish wire
        about 24 coils

An AR front sight post detent spring is surprisingly close and it might work though the tension is a lot higher.

Awesome! Thank You. I have several front sight springs in my spare parts bin.

              Randall,

You are the man. Just installed a Front Sight spring and it is a perfect fit. Problem solved.

              Once again. Thank You!

Ruger sent me a replacement spring. Did a side by side comparison of the Ruger and AR front sight spring.
Ruger looks like it has 1 xtra coil?

A higher tension spring will not work. The reason is that the stop meets the bolt at a certain angle that is smaller than 90 degrees. If the spring is too strong, it forces the bolt to release.

I used a spring successfully taken from Fraurem Beretta adapter for Henry Homesteader. It's puny. It was a little short though, so I added a small dovel.

That said, just call Ruger. The send those things out.

Also, once you solved the problem, buy the TK cross pins with ball detents. They are made for 10/22, so they are too long for PC. But the diameter is correct. They do not fall out.

Interesting. It would not work for me... Just a little handling and bolt releases by itself.
TK also sell a bolt stop that is cut at a different profile.
