Is this LWRC Angled Hand Brace CA featureless friendly?

Getting bored, I am trying to convert my LWRC IC DI Standard 5.56 (fixed mag) to CA featureless.

It came with this factory LWRCI Angled Hand Brace that I may or may not decide to keep it on the rifle, but just want to check with you folks if it is CA Featureless Friendly if I end up keeping it on the rifle?

CA state does not make determinations of legality.
The best you can do is read the actual laws and decide for yourself.

PC30515 covers your question pretty well:

    AR work: www.ar15barrels.com
    Bolt actions: www.700barrels.com
    Foreign Semi Autos: www.akbarrels.com
Barrel, sight and trigger work on most pistols and shotguns.
    Most work performed while-you-wait.

This is good, but doesn’t go far enough to define what a “pistol grip” is.
      California Codes it as:

      (d) "pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon" means a grip that allows for a pistol style grasp in which the web of the trigger hand (between the thumb and index finger) can be placed below the top of the exposed portion of the trigger while firing.

That’s more of “hand stop” to prevent the hand from sliding on the hand guard, rather than a “pistol grip”. One grips the hand guard, one doesn’t necessarily grip the stop.

        Thanks folks,

Yes, its actual size is more like a 'hand stop' so the support hand wouldn't be sliding around. It is too small to 'grip on' especially for my fat hands, lol.

I kind of like it because its back end has a built-in QD mount for sling.

I hope it would be CA featureless friendly.....

It should be OK, as it is an ANGLED "forward" grip as opposed to a vertical forward grip. You can find the Magpul "AFG" at many CA gun stores, so pretty sure they are GTG. Of course that could change with new insane laws, but...

FWIW, I've got AFG's on a couple PDW style setups, and find them to be comfortable, while keeping hands safe!

Featureless is the way…. If SolarTactical still makes the grip wraps- those are the ones you want- have one and have used them for years. Also on my LWRC IC DI 5.56….
I tried those hand stops and they just made my rig heavier- I ultimately went with an Arisaka Defense indexer- looks small but incredibly effective. I run it btwn my ring and middle finger ….. 4D4494E0-F66E-4C6E-921E-62A3BA298729.jpg

Thank you sir ….. super accurate- love them ! I picked up the piston version as well….. run a T2 on that one and use an Arisaka indexer of a different flavor…..

Based on the pictures it should be fine. Like others alluded to, California doesn't tell us what we "can" do. They only tell us what we cannot do as vaguely as possible. Lawmakers goal is limiting our gun rights as much as they can get away with in the moment. The vaguer they are the more broadly and restrictive the law can be interpreted. Not only by the courts, but by the industry and citizenry as well. Often, we end up self-regulating ourselves even beyond what the law says out of an abundance of caution. Nobody wants to be the test case...for good reason.
