    Building an AKS74U aspirations - Am I a fool?

While cleaning up, I came across a BlueJack AKS-74U barrel that I bought some nine years ago. Well right now, building guns is the furthest in my mind. But it got me thinking as I am selling my last Bulgarian AK74 parts kit at AKfiles. Should I keep the barrel and someday build an AKS-74U? Would the Bulgarian AK74 parts kit be a good starting point?

I have plenty of 5.45 ammo. Sourcing the gas block, hinged top cover, hand guards and rear sight block wouldn’t be easy.

Then there is that PSA 5.56 Krinkov out there…

Just sell the barrel and the AK74 parts kit? Get the PSA Krink and convert it to 5.45?

I've always liked the Krink type AKs. If here in CA you would need to go the AK Pistol route. I have several AR Pistols, so I would not be opposed to that. Which I could offer advice and answer your questions about which kit to use. That's beyond my knowledge base.
