Hi I searched and watched videos on how to remove the front sight block on my ar. I have the pin for the gas tube and the front sight taper pins removed. But for some reason the sight wont come off. I have zero rounds in it. I tried hitting it with a mallet and it wont budge. tried twisting it to loosen-nothing. Anybody here want to help me out. Im from santa clara cali and I can drive to you if you are within 10 miles. I just dont want to damage anything by applying too much force on the wrong spot. thanks

Try heat.
You will probably just have to keep working it back and forth. The cuts in the barrel are most likely causing it to bind. Unless it was parked after the FSB was installed, but I don't know any manufacturtrt doing that.

Hit it with a mallet again, but hit it on an angle that turns it at the same time. I've never not been able to get an AR front sight base off using that method. There are 3 kinds of people in this world.
The wise, learn from the mistakes of others.
The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

I only Followed what the guy on the video did. But thanks to all the comments. I will try to heat it up. Some videos i watched, all they had to do was twist it and it slid out easily.Comment
