    Best maglock for a lefty

Finally got to shoot my new-to-me Saint Victor that came with the Juggernaut Hellfighter maglock installed. What a piece of **** that contraption is! The rifle came with PMAGs, and once empty, the bolt catches on the mag follower, effectively locking it open in a position where the upper and lower can barely separate enough to activate the mag release. I have to pull the charging handle back to release pressure on the mag to get it to drop. Total cluster****. I know I can get the Dremel out and shave the follower down to create a ramp, but that seems like patchwork for a system I'm no longer interested in using.

In looking into other options, the Hogue Freedom Fighter seems to be the best of the worst solutions, and I'm coming around to the idea of drilling into my lower as it looks like it is the only solution that will also allow me to use an ambidextrous mag release. I shoot lefty, so this would be nice to have. All other solutions (Cross, AR Maglock) replace the mag release and I can't use it ambi.

Any other lefty shooters out there running the Hogue kit? Would be curious to hear about your experience with other setups and what you've landed on. Not interested in going featureless

First of all being left handed unless you've purchased an ambi rifle with controls on both sides will you have a different learning curve than others.

Having a maglocked rifle and even a featureless rifle requires a lot practice to get used to and it really comes down to what you want to get out of it. Some people want to just shoot and dont need fast mag changes while others want fast mag changes and to be able to clear malfunctions and others just want to bench shoot and use a Compmag so they can have a semi relaxing day of shooting.

Id suggest going to the AR Maglock Instagram as I've posted a lot of left handed users with our product. They're fast and they're efficient. Also you can go to Tap Rack Bang Training groups YouTube as the owner is a left hand user as well and has posted some videos on how he manipulates the rifle.

Either way its important to understand the platform and its function prior to choosing any system because without truly understanding the rifle it will be more difficult to use the system that you choose.

Also if you use the mag long enough with the Juggernaut system the bolt will eventually wear a groove into the follower so that the it will no longer hold the bolt back.

    Good luck.
