80% lower question

if there is ever another ban on ar15's and you already have a few stripped lowers in your possession, i know you should be safe, right ?

well my main question is, would you be able to start from an 80% lower when the ban is already in effect ?

this question is impossible to correctly answer because we do not know the nature of your hypothetical ban.

The ban could have a grandfather clause, it ban all new production (including home built) it could simply require registration. It is IMPOSSIBLE to predict, especially since on neither state nor fed level there is nothing proposed that resembles a future ban.

I will go out on a limb and say this:

The likelihood of Ca seeing any laws right now that are more restrictive than the existing Ca AWB is not good. Of course, gun culture for many is synonymous with culture, and Im sure there are tons of people out there that are SURE should Obama get re-elected he will ban all guns and blah blah blah

thanks for the reply. my buddy and i have been talking about building ourselves a new lower from an 80%, he asked me this question and i had no answer for him.
