This is just my personal opinion, but when I get mine I plan on only transporting it in two pieces and only shooting it out in the desert just to be safe."Please use the comments to demonstrate your own ignorance, unfamiliarity with empirical data, ability to repeat discredited memes, and lack of respect for scientific knowledge. Also, be sure to create straw men and argue against things I have neither said nor even implied. Any irrelevancies you can mention will also be appreciated. Lastly, kindly forgo all civility in your discourse . . you are, after all, anonymous."

Dose anyone ever have any problems with outdoor ranges? Do some places not allow AR's?Comment

Lytle Creek is safe... Someone had a .50BMG bolt action there last weekend, and someone else drove in a military-style hummer, proceeded to mount his browning .50cal on the roof mount and blasted away... It was pretty awesome hearing it go off on the hillside.
Plenty of OLLs, AKs, etc. there all the time. Have not seen any bullet-buttoned HK style rifles, FALs, PTRs there since I've started shooting there though and I always look for it to see if I can try one...NRA Member, CAPRC MemberComment

You have to break a law to get pulled over.
Your guns have to be illegal for you to get in trouble.Comment

1. Put your OLL in a locked rifle case and don't worry about it.
2. You are safe with a bullet button. Make sure your old fashioned Prince-50 is tight. If you're concerned you can refer to the thread on a recent CHP encounter with the bullet button here on CGN.

Most LE encounters with legit folks w/OLLs who are verbally agile go OK. Already happened to several Calgunners.
An ability to quote 12276.1PC, the related regulations and regulatory history 'book, chapter & verse' is indeed helpful.
Most all OLL-related arrests in since Jan 2006 have involved folks under age of 26 (there was one exception in SoCal at start of OLL craze, case was dismissed).
That said, mitigate things by- Driving sanely... no 'California stops'.
- Having working blinkers/lights, valid tags, and no windshield cracks.
- Appearance counts. It's a free country, but shaggy tattooed guys in wife-beaters driving
rust buckets (or young dudes in lowered Hondas w/racing stickers) will likely receive more
scrutiny than cleancut guys wearing Rolexes and shined shoes driving washed/waxed vehicles.
- If guns are locked in cases in trunks or other unviewable storage areas, the subject of guns
won't likely come up.
- NEVER CONSENT TO A SEARCH.
- If asked about car contents, "There's no illegal items in this vehicle, officer, I'm travelling
to XYZ (a legit destination)."
Remember, as one wag on AR15.COM says, it's "legal to carry a dead hooker in your trunk as long as your taillights work."

There is a thing called "custodial custody" A cop can only keep you detained without arresting you for i think an hour after that you have a case for harassment.
could be wrong and i'm not a cop but thought i'd put those administration of justice classes i took in college to use finally.Comment

I thought if you refuse to allow a LEO to search your vehicle, he can keep you pulled over and get a search warrant because he feels there is "probably cause" that you may have some illegal. I have a friend that is P.O. and he told me that. He said most cops won't, but if you come across one that had a bad day and has noting better to do he might. I live in Irvine, and the cops here are really bored. They will chase you down for window tint. I've seen a motorcycle cop once pull over a kid on a bicycle, riding to school! I just asked this question of my PO friend because 90% of the time I get pulled over the cop asks to search my truck.Comment

You get pulled over enough to do percentages? As my knuckles are rapping wood, I can honestly say I do not remember the last time I was pulled over. 37, contractor, the invisible white chevy truck(always clean, always legit) and drive within reasonable speeds as far as traffic goes.Comment
