5.56/223 Spikes Lower or CMMG Lower?

Hi there, I am looking forward for a lower today, and I have chosen a Spikes Tactical or a CMMG - Lower receiver.
Now, these two, at my local dealer are only $5 dollars apart from eachother.
Which would you choose?
Are there any major differences other than the brand names?


AMMO question!
What kind of 223/556 ammo would you recommend for..
Plinking?
Hunting(small game/varmits/squirrels)?
Deer/hog?
^As for deer and hog, I know that 556/223 arent the very best rounds for them, but I would like to know which are best, should I run into these.

Other questions ..
Which would be the cheapest, yet good quality quad rail? My upper/barrel would most likely be a 16". Only things I will be having on there will be an angled/forward grip, and railcovers.
Is it OK to hunt with Reddot sights/reflex sights? (close range, probably like 10-20 yards)

+1 I have a SPIKES lower and LPK and everything fit perfectly I also have not had problems with plastic or metal mags running through it either if that helps.

Doesn't really matter...I have CMMG, Spikes and Sun Devil lowers. I only bought the Spikes lower with the spider graphic and corny full auto markings because it was the cheapest one the gun shop had.

To be honest, it doesnt matter, as long as it works and the firearm ends up shooting I will be happy. Only people that will be seeing it upclose would probably be just me.

You might as well buy both then decide when you get your upper as to which one matches better.

Dealers around here mostly carry dpms uppers (I believe) if that matters which lower to get. Will be getting a complete 16in upper.. And budget for the uppers im trying to get are <500 sale price.

No probably not unless something was out if spec I don't know about cmmg but I do know spikes is mil-spec
