How much are basic AR-15 rifles?

I am currently trying to get an ideal range of how much a basic .223/556, 6.8, 308/7.62 COMPLETE rifle goes for, for both in a local dealer, and/or online(for those usually IN STOCK)
- can we use the same LPK and lower reciever for the 556, 6.8, and the 762? Or will i be needing a different LPK and a lower for these?
Also, which would you recommend for both plinking and hunting-will be hunting deer, hog, or whatever i can get my hands on with it.(mostly plink)
Basically, just a rifle with a flattop so i can throw on an eotech or rds for now.[will add on a scope later on]

I think the two lowest in price that you'll find are the S&W M&P 15-sport & a DPMS like the "DT Sport", I believe it's called. Turner's had a wed. deal that brought that DPMS or a similar model pretty damn cheap. Oh, it was the DPMS Oracle with no sights for $630.

Basic 5.56?? Build a lower, buy a complete upper, if you don't get to carried away under $800 with dros and shipping. I did a JD lower with PSA MOE LBK and 14.7 upper at the beginning of the year, with a couple mags and sights was just under $800 complete with fees. And, Im working on a couple more for my kids, 16" with chrome hammer forged barrels and they should end up about $800 to $850 total with fees and shipping, unless they start adding free float rails etc it could jump to a grand.

For .223/5.56 and 6.8 (other calibers too) you can use the same lower, Just swap uppers.

You will need a different lower for .308

Out of the calibers you listed the .223 will be the cheapest to plink with.

I second this. A gun needing nothing more than ammo to shoot is generally going to cost $700+. Mine is really basic using more economical parts and I spent $800.

Do you want basic or reliable/durable to shoot all ammo and cycle properly when shooting in volume. A little upfront planning and the right parts may make gun ownership more fun and cost efficient.

Basic 5.56 -$600-900
Basic 6.8 - about the same. Mags are more expensive.
Basic 7.62x39 about the same (IMO, buy an AK or SKS if you want to shoot 7.62x39)
Basic 308 - $1500 but plan to spend $2000-$2500 for a durable rifle.

May I suggest that you use MilSpec parts from better quality manufacturers and spend the few extra dollars. I spent less money up front and ended up buying new parts to fix various problems that cropped up increasing the cost of my rifle by 50%.

If you ever want to shoot heavier 5.56/.223 bullets for hunting, you may wish to use a 1/7 twist barrel. Spend the extra $100 and buy a good barrel with chrome lined barrel and chamber. It should last longer, clean easier, resist corrosion, and will allow you greater flexability with ammunition.

Decent Factory guns start out about 900 bux that are chrome lined......

Most factory rifles can be had somewhere bwtn 900-1200 dollars...

Piston rifles will generally be a lot more.....

308s depends on what style or type you wanna go with...Knights/DPMS..Armalite...Rock River....
