so im looking at getting my first AR style rifle. most my experience is with bolt action rifles and shotguns and 1911 pistols. dont know a whole lot about ARs. i know i can buy a lower and upper and build my own. was also looking at the m&P 15 sports with flat top at the gunstore for $750. basically i want some input on brands and whether i should buy a complete rifle or build one. i have about 800 to spend atm but if i build one i could go a lil over that as ill have more money next paycheck.
ive read thru some threads and havent gotten where exactly people recommend to buy parts if im going to build one so sorry in advance if this has been gone over a bigillion times.
i shoot once or twice a month on private property so i dont need a $3000 piston rifle. this will just be a plinking and varmint toy.
