NEW Source for 1.5mm MAK 90 Receivers

Hello all - I have been looking for a source for 1.5mm Stamped MAK 90 Receivers.

I found the following source for these:

Bellow, a copy of Matt's answer to my questions regarding the MAK 90 receivers ( I also asked if he offered receivers for fixed stock rifles with dimpled magwells ):

"hi, yes i do make these and will have 40 ready to go this month.

i have 1 under folder now with no magwell dimples.

i am making a mix of all combos now.

these run 150 shipped and come with chinese selector marks and detents.

i can also take credit cards.

    thanks matt"

Damnit $150 +tax +FFL fees +dros. I'd rather let my Mak kit sit in the garage.

Yes they are expensive. I used one on an NHM91 kit and it came out fine.

Mine is on the way, I won't tell you what I paid for the kit but total cost should be about 151$

They are, thats why we use build kits to make "clone" receivers.

I've gotten 3 from his first batch and have yet to build them up. I got 2 underfolder and 1 fixed stock receiver. He is pretty much the only guy making receivers for Chinese ak's without having to mod the trunnions. I need more but will wait to see if Curtis EVER continues his chicom flat project.

                  some chicom kit porn

I've never been a big fan of the way the Chinese AK's look. Why are they so popular/expensive? Rarity? Parts Quality? Straight Shooters?

I never cared for the stock so I ordered a fine walnut set from Ironwood

Now to find a flat or reciever that isn't $200+

They have the "Double Hook" Trigger & Hammer group, which offers the best factory action of most all AKMs..

They feature 1.5mm thick receivers, as opposed to the 1.0mm thick receivers on most Euro AKM's ( I believe some Yugos are also 1.5mm ).

                        They have thicker barrels

                        They have chrome-lined barrels

They were plentyful and inexpensive to buy, back in the day..

An Avertisement from the early 1990s :

And finally, if they are good enough for our NAVY SEALs, they are good enough for me...

                        Excerpt from AK World-

"The Navy Seals and the Military Defense Council of Finland, both selected Norinco of China to supply Chinese type 56 AK-47 rifles, which are virtually identical (except for select-fire components) to the Norinco MAK-90, & without the MAK-90's thumbhole stock).

THAT SHOULD TELL YOU SOMETHING, as the GALIL AK's, F.E.G.'s from Hungary, Arsenal of Bulgaria, and Russian AK's were all tested against the Chinese Norinco, and the Norinco came out on top as the most rugged, and best value DUE TO THE USE OF THICKER 1.5MM STAMPED CHINESE RECEIVERS, DOUBLE-HOOK TRIGGERS FOR SMOOTHER TRIGGER-PULL, and thicker Chinese barrels, despite the fact that it would have been easier for Finland and the U. S. Navy Seals to buy AK-47 variants from other Eastern European, or Russian sources.

Finally, Norinco of China, Zastava of Yugoslavia, and Valmet/Sako of Finland all use at least 1.5mm steel for their stamped receivers on their AK variants."
