I really really really want to have mine plated so its all shiny like chrome or gold or something. I haven't done it because I can't afford to spend a ton of money on it, but I'd love to look like a total dick at the range with it

I'd get it parked, but a wore out blue finish would look really cool.
Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

Someone had done a complete park job at, or a little before FEDUPWBS's build party. It was NICE. I want to have one of mine parked at the next one(hint, hint fedup).

Go parked it does really look nice, and I also feel more authentic.

We will be having a Park and Blueing party in the spring! So get your builds done. The price is estimated to be $100 first gun and $50 ea after that. NO MORE THAN 15 people will be invited! DB2 is on the list.
BTW it totally matters what country the gun is from!

got the smith that did mine to park it. the only flaw in the finish even after about 1.5k rounds is the arc that the safety lever traces on the receiver.

                          AK finish

First determine the original finish---Yugo's are blued, many others are parked, some are parked and painted.
If it is not a Yugo, which should be blued to remain original, I prefer parkerizing which will protect the metal from rust, then painted.
Have used DuraCoat with good results.

If you are building to personal taste, I'm thinking Park with a Duracoat would give you lots of color/finish options and very good durability...
                              oh this...
                              It's a Single Cylinder - Single Stroke,

                              with a Free Floating Piston...
