    picking scope mounts

i need to order a pair of scope mounts for my new vortex scope. the biggest part of the scope measures a hair under 2 inches. im looking online at scope mounts and im puzzled on where they measure 1/2inch, 3/4 inch, and 1inch from. is it from the center of the mount to the bottom (where the bottom of the mount would touch the top of the rail) or would it be the bottom of the ring (where the scope sits) to the bottom of the mount?

What are you mounting this on? Afaik the measure tube diameter 1" and 30mm being the most common. Then you have base risers 20 moa and the like. Then there are rings that go from low to extra high to accommodate different objective sizes such as 50mm. Other than that idk

On the Midwayusa site at the bottom of the homepage under references there is a scope ring guide that will help you decide whether you need low to ex high rings based on objective size. Haven't looked at it in a while but its helpful.
