    DPMS LR308 loose fit.

Just picked up my brand new DPMS LR308 yesterday, and after getting it home I noticed the fit between the upper and lower is a tad loose.I can see just a bit of light when I hold it up and if I put pressure on it it goes away.Should I be worried, will it affect accuracy, any easy fixes,or should I send it back? Thanx from a slightly bummed DPMS first timer(and maybe last timer).

Please don't send t back. Please don't use an accuwedge. There is nothing wrong with it.

Perfectly normal doesn't affect accuracy. The two parts are independent of each other and looseness doesn't affect accuracy

Its dangerous and only a pro should use a slightly loose ****ty DPMS like that. I'll buy it off of you. $50 is the most its worth. Get rid of it before it hurts you.

            THIS!!!!!
It's how the ARs were designed. Since the sights are both on the upper their looseness to the lower means NOTHING to accuracy.
Accuwedge makes it hard to field strip, and eventually decays from the solvents and becomes a hindrance.

SOLD to vern748 for $50 plus $1200 shipping/handling! RIGHT!!Thanx guys,Im just used to my Stags. The fit on them is superb and wasnt sure what, if anything the slight movement might do.Also when the bolt is locked back I can slap(pretty hard) the butt stock and the bolt flies home!I read that Militec(the oil I use) on the catch would do that though I suspect maybe it would do the same thing bone dry!

I've never seen a rifle fail due to "too much play" between the upper/lower receiver. I have however, seen a rifle fail due to pieces of an accuwedge getting caught up in the FCG.

Get an accuwedge at a gun show for a buck. Then trim it to your fitting needs. If you don't like it you lost a buck. Whoop d frinkin doo!
