    M4 /w A2 upper, where to buy?

what I want is an m4 14.5" upper, a2 reciever, m4 feedramps, good steel, etc.

bushmaster has this for 590 bucks, but im not sure its got m4 feed ramps or what the specs are on the barrel. any other places I can look?

M4 feed ramps are over rated. Not trying to talk you into something you dont want but just giving an opinion that may save you some frustration in the long run and maybe making your options larger.
    Are you shooting full auto?
Are you aware the real reason for M4 feed ramps were made was so Colt could keep their contract with the mil?
M16's are still in service today with full auto capabilities and function well without M4 feed ramps.

    Just food for thought

I may be wrong but I believe the M4A1 has always been a flat top. Prior to the M4A1 the shorty with an A1/A2 type reciever was the CAR-15

I'd start here, pretty good stuff better than the Bushmaster, you won't go wrong with BCM, some may be out of stock but if you sign-up to notify you they are usually back in stock a a few weeks. You will need to add BCG, charging handle and handguard.

There is literally no functional reason for you to have M4 feedramps on a semi-auto build, but for the record my Armalite A2 upper has them, and PK Firearms has an unknown A2-M4 upper here . Your best bet is to check out the ar15.com classifieds; I browse them pretty frequently and I see a lot of A2 uppers from various manufacturers going in the $85-90 range as opposed to the $140 that PK Firearms wants.

There have been a plethora of short-barreled ARs used by the military. The most recent A2 carbine that the military used was the Colt 727:

...And then came the M4, and then the M4A1. Supposedly there was a very small run of the very first M4s which did have A2 uppers, but I've never seen this substantiated with fact.

A2 means that it has the integral carry handle with rear sights that are drum-adjustable for elevation and windage; see the picture above.

that is beautiful. i know the m4 ramps dont do anything, especially when i run my m4 uppers with heavier springs and buffers to slow down cycle rate, i guess i can forego that option since it does open options up.
