    Air Gauged ??

    What makes an air gauged barrel better? Tinking of buying a 20" ss wilson barrel for my ar.

    Air gauged means it was just tested using an air gauge. You could have an air gauged barrel thats a piece of junk. You need to know the pass/fail tolerances of the barrel maker.

    The wilson is a decent barrel. WOA uses their blanks, and after working their magic, they're great.

    ETA: An air gauge is described as "a device used to compare a machined surface to a standard surface by assessing the rate of passage of air between them." This is done with the bore.

      would i be better off going with a dpms bull barrel? it gonna c a lot of use. thank you for the reply

        I'd get a barrel from White Oak Armament. I'm a bit biased since I use their products, but I think they ship out good finished barrels.
