    Picked up my AK AMD65

    Hi all,
I got my AMD65 today and the dust cover I think I am not putting it on right. In fact I can look the charging handle back and it will stay open but a friendly bump will push it forward again.
    Am I dong something wrong?

If your dust cover is on and your bolt is sticking, 2 ways to fix it..
1 shoot a couple hundred rounds thru it and it should fix itself.
2 maybe your hammer is sticking up yoo high and needs to be grinded a lil bit.
Did you build it or buy it?

based on those pics, the dust cover isn't installed all the way on. It need to go forward about a quarter inch. the back of the dust cover needs to be infron of the rear lip of the rear trunnion, not behind it.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Take it back and have them file the hammer down.

It's pretty common, and it's unlikely there's anything fundamentally wrong. I'd second the suggestion to shoot a few hundred rounds and if it's still binding go back and have the shop give it a good deburring.

You're right. The guys at Valkyrie Arms just showed me the proper way

It now functions perfectly. The trigger is really nice and feels 5-6Lbs.
The interior when field stripping looks new and Valkyrie did an amazing job on overall finish
