I'm telling you do not add that other stuff to your SKS! If you want to tac out something get a AK and add that stuff but your SKS is a classic that worth more in the original package. IMO
The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!

If you want to bubba it.You have to make it 922 complient and you have to keep a fixed mag on it.Buy a after market gas tube and handguard for it so you don't have to drive the pin out of the gastube.Keep all of the orginal parts and the stock and handguard for later use.The Russian is a very collectable and desired rifle it is a shame to do it but it is your gun.I would buy a yugo bubba it and make the russian a safe queen.

Thanks for the input guys. I had no idea the value of an original. I guess I won't be touching it.

        Thanks again

+1 on leaving it be. I bought a Russian years ago for $150. Their value is going up, and to bubba one is just a bad idea. Not to mention, once you start adding tacti-cool parts, you can no longer sell it as C&R, so on top of de-valuing a beautiful gun, you make it a pain to sell, DROS etc.
If you like the idea of a tacticool SKS, find a Norinco or Yugo for about $300, add $2-300 for your add ons, and you have your SKS. Keep in mind, you can get a WASR AK for about $5-600.
Your best bet is to watch the for sale forums here. I have seen MANY tacti-cool SKS' go from $300 up.

Please please don't hurt that rifle. I have a Norinco that I will swap you straight up.
Son, one day you will make a girl very happy, for a short period of time. Then she will leave you and be with men who are ten times better than you could ever hope to be. These men are called Marines.
