    prices for gun transfer?

Ok my good friends wife works for dicks sporting goods and gets 50% off firearm purchases. Only thing when she buys them they gotta be in Her name. How much would it be to transfer it to my name?

Well she would have to pay tax and $25 for dros for the firearm, then transfer to his name would be another $35, Unless she can put his name down during the initial purchase. Man 50% off huh? That's awesome.

            50%!! I doubt it.
Not that kind of mark up at Dick's. There prices are pretty good so I doubt there is room to go an additional 50% unless it's some kind of perk with limitations.
Example: One gun per year, must be registered in employees name, maximum $ discount, etc. etc. etc.
If Dick's did not have some limitations, their employees would buy up everything and re sell

Probably 50% off certain items only, not guns.

Isn't that when you purchase the gun for somebody who can't own own one legally? I'm not really sure if I'm correct. What if it is a gift? Also I can legally own a weapon.

No,a straw purchase is when a person (guy number one) buys a gun for another person (guy number two) so the real name of the actual purchaser (guy number two) is hidden, guy number two does not have to be restricted.

So if you have a buddy buy a gun for you, even if you could legally buy it, so the gun is in your buddy's name, and you take possession of it without doing a legal transfer into you name, that is a straw purchase.

A person can buy a gun as a gift for another person, they are the actual purchaser, and there is a spot where you can mark stating the gun is a gift, you must make sure the receiver of the gift completes the necessary transfer to put the gun in their name.

I would guess they probably only mark up guns 10-20% MAX, most gun stores make money on accessories. Cause you cant just walk out of there with an iron club, right?

I doubt its 50% off the shelf

Usually places like that the reps offer the employees pro deals where they get it direct from the manufacturer at a deeply discounted rate same with optics and all markdowns vary from brand to brand \\

At least thats how it worked at basspro

I went to my local shop. They had a GLOCK 35 in stock, the price tag was $899.

I found a shop an hour away that was selling the same gun for $569. And hes still making money.
