Which of the two or suggest another...?

I'm looking to add another to the collection soon. I want something in .25-06 that I can use both for poking holes in paper that are really close to each other at 100-300 yard distances and the occasional varmint hunt in the field. I'd really prefer it to be a stainless barrel & reciever. Composite stocks turn me off so I'd like to have some type of wood, doesn't really matter if it's hardwood or laminate. These are the two I've come across so far that seem to meet the requirements.

Anyone know much about these? Advice? Tips? Recommendations?

The Ruger is a beaut and you can't argue with it's proven performance. The only drawback I can think of for it would be having to lose your sight picture to reload after each shot. That could be mildly annoying at the range and make quick follow up shots difficult while varminting.
