    The C, the L, and the P.

I've read through literally 100s of posts about cleaning ARs... getting mine in 10 days. My head is spinning from all the conflicting advice.

Whether you love CLP or hate CLP, if you were to use individual products--one to clean, one to lube, and one to protect--what would they be? I'm leaning towards using the separate products, just because that's kinda how I was brought up.

This is coming from a guy whose dad taught him to clean the guns after every trip to the range, but we always just used the cheap walmart-type kit of solvent and gun oil, and then we'd wipe everything down with WD-40 before putting it back in the case. I'm ready to clean my rifle a little more professionally than that, just need a little help.

Bleach, Astroglide, and Nonoxynol-9. It's what all the high speed, low drag guys are using.

I use different things to clean copper fouling and carbon fouling. So, I use at least two different cleaners if copper fouling is present. There are so many diffenrent ways to go here. I just will not introduce anything with teflon in it to a rifled bore.

So seriously, there are a few different products that I use, but I'm not going to say what they are because anyone who mentions froglube or militech on these forums gets bent over a sink.

Cleaning: Mpro7. It's non toxic and it doesn't smell. It cleans well enough. It's not the best in the world, but unless you want to shoot your gun then put it in a museum, it's fine. Wear rubber gloves. Even though it's non-toxic, it will eat all of the natural oils on your hands and they will chap, which sucks if you're lonely later.

Lube: Get a Lubrikit. It's food grade oil and a few syringes of grease. It's non-toxic and it also protects. I just received mine recently, put it on my HK's (pistol and rifle) and shot once. It works really well. The guns aren't as clean as when I used to use froglube, but then again I don't like being bent over a sink, so there is that.

Protect. . . if you keep your guns lubed, you won't need to protect them. . . unless you lube with something asinine like motor oil, but then you're just dumb.
