Gun Shop Doesn't Do FFL Transfers?

You are assuming that the mark up is low. In many stores it isn't. And I almost never bother doing a transfer from out of state through a gun store. there are several transferring FFLs in my area, and their prices are far lower than the other stores. As for not shopping in gun stores that gouge you, that is why I don't go to gun shops. If a sporting goods store like Turner's or Big 5 run a deal, I might go in and look at it. But one of the gun-only stores? Not bloody likely.

Are you referring to using a non-gun store FFL? Looking at the FFL finder some of the online dealers/distributors have on their websites, there are a couple in my area. However, I'm not too sure how working through them would work--since they seem to be individual people instead of a store. Would I just call the person and coordinate for the gun to be shipped to their house plus any attendant fees?
