My first AR build. ----In Process

Hey guys, As stated this is my first AR build and I just wanted to post some pics of the project and get some feedback, (Make sure I'm doing everything right).

As you can see I don't post much, but I read everything and have gotten my hands on as much info about OLL's as I possibly can.

I'm planning on finishing her off in 5.56, after looking at barrels online I see 1:7, and 1:9 Twist.... Anyone with experience in both barrels have a preference? And if so why?

So far I have in it.

    Stripped Lower from Riflegear
    Upper from JD Machine
    Stag Lower parts kit
    Magpul Moe + Grip
    Magpul ACS Buttstock
    ATI Buffer tube Assembly
    JD Machine Charging Handle
    Magpul Trigger Gaurd

Any thoughts or tips from the AR vets would be greatly appreciated!!

As for barrels I have a 1:8 twist. If you want true "milspec" go 1:7 (for 62g or higher bullets). If you plan on mainly shooting .223 go 1:9 (most .223 is 55g). But honestly the main difference is cost, usually 1:7 cost more.

1:8 seems like the best of both worlds, Milspec would be 1:7 which allows heavier ammo. Up to you. I say whichever one is fine.

After doing some more looking into it, it seems like 1:8 would be best for me. Thanks for the input!

I'm thinking a sort of Quad Rail.. Yankee Hill, Daniel Defense, or Troy.

Let me know how the DD or YHM work out. I'm picking up a VTAC TRX Extreme 13" tomorrow.

I like the modular rails for the weight savings.
