Featureless means i can switch my pistol grip for a monsterman grip or such which is not classified as a pistol grip therefore i don't have to have a bullet button on it. So the mag release would be normal and i would not need a tool to take out the mag. With the 23 its not possible to do this because the mag lock is permanent because it's cut in half.

The PSL is one of the many AK variants. It shoots a larger ammo than the AK47 (7.62x39) or AK74 (5.45x39) variants.
So 'No' an AK47 or AK74 cannot be converted to be a PSL due to differences in ammo.
Featureless rifle refers to SB23.
If the rifle doesn't have any of the so called 'evil features' of SB23 then it does not require a mag lock.Comment

OP check out the flow chart on top of the forum page.
Featureless pretty much means you can use preban 30 round mags, and / or drop mags without using a bullet button.
Here was mine while in CA

I'd avoid an IO as posted above! I finally saw one at a shop and was able to release the magazine through the 'magazine lock' with my finger. This one appeared to have the rivets properly set but that would show after firing a few times. The front sight post was AFU as well. Nothing is really wrong with a Saiga, just handle it and see if it's what you want. If you're in SoCal, come out to the Super Secret Zombie Shoot and I'll let you check out my Saiga and other AKs.). i live in san bruno (down the street from that monster pge pipeline explosion over a year ago!!) which is like 20 mins away from san fran. do u have any pics? what is your personal favorite?

so in your pic in your post your grip is not a pistol grip? which allows u to not have to have a bullet button? or was this gun made before they made this law about grips and bullet buttons? very nice gun btw.Originally posted by starsnufferTaking legal advice from a gun store owner or employee is like taking dietary advice at the McDonald's drive through. The grip fin eliminates the pistol grip, and its a 74' style muzzle brake, so no evil features.Sandstorm Custom Rifle Slings : Custom Paracord slings

oh yea and what feature allowed you to use 30 round mags? which brings up another question... i see a lot of people who are selling stuff on here and they include 30 round mag rebuild kits... is this a way around buying a 30 round mag?Originally posted by starsnufferTaking legal advice from a gun store owner or employee is like taking dietary advice at the McDonald's drive through. Its illegal to sell, manufacture, or import standard cap mags. So people sell them as kits, but you cant put them together in CA. A lot of people use them when they are outside of CA, but you have to disassemble them before bringing them back into the state.
Read up on it, there's a few stickies. Im a bit out of it, so I may not be perfectly accurate on it right now.Sandstorm Custom Rifle Slings : Custom Paracord slings

The -lack- of features are what allowed me to not use a bullet button. Without a bullet button there is no mag capacity limit. And as long as you have a Standard cap mag prior to the ban, you are gtg to use them in a non BB'd rifle.
