    p mag rebuild kits

i just bought a few pmag re build kits from the gun show, and i've heard from a friend of mine that they are totally illegal, even to have em' in your home.
why would they even sell em' @ cow palace iuno now?

is this true?, i thought if you had kept it in pieces( re-build/dissassembled ) in California it is okay? but once i assemble it out of state (ex. nevada/oregon) it is legal to posses and use them?

please inform me correctly, i do not not want to lose my privileges over items that i bought from the gun show.

    thanks

    Your friend is wrong.

Just dont assemble them as >10 rd magazines
    or
use the kits you purchased to repair magazines you already had
    or
keep the kits to assemble OOS for your OOS training classes.

You can buy as many rebuild kits as you like, just don't make any NEW magazines out of them in California. If you have legally owned pre-ban magazines with common parts, you can use the rebuild kits to rebuild them.

If you travel to some state without magazine restrictions, you can go ahead and assemble them - as many as you like - into functioning magazines and use them ... in that state. Don't bring them back into California assembled. Dis-assemble them back into rebuild kits/parts prior to returning to CA.

You can use them in full configuration only outside of the state, when you bring them back to Cali, you must break them down and leave them disassembled. (Make sure you know what laws the state you are in have, considering magazine capacities)

Just use these re-build kits you purchased to re-build any old preban mags you have once they need to be rebuilt.
