    Will not ship to CA??

classicarms.us will not ship Romy kits to CA, what gives? I could understand not shipping an actual rifle but a parts kit, come on.

Not willing to do business with a state that now has the largest market = their loss.

There are plenty of places to buy a kit.

It's not beating a dead horse because this is the first I've heard of classicarms.us doing this.

Fellow calgunners should be made aware that our money isn't good there.

I for one won't be spending money or sending gun-o-holics there while such policy remains. Pity too, they get good stuff at good prices...

Funny, they shipped me a FAL kit 2 years ago and an AMD AK kit 3 years ago with no complaints at all.

If they're not willing to sell a parts kit, so much for buying a Saiga from them

$250 is a great price, too...

I like classicarms, and would have no problem dealing with them. Unfortunately they are not alone...ALOT of places will not ship to California (and I have had to have stuff shipped to my address in Las Vegas). While I hate the fact that places won't ship to California, I do not really blame them. If you think about it, they are just trying to C their own A. Most of the places do not import the parts kits, and they pretty much buy from Century. Keeping in mind that century sets the prices--that the retailers have to pay themselves--what kind of profit margin are we talking about on kits from $99-150? And for that profit margin, they have to risk getting dragged into court by the CADOJ? Yes, we can argue that everyone should know that parts kits are not considered firearms by the BATF, but we are dealing with the CA DOJ here. (Not a government agency that knows what they are doing.) And from the oh-so many posts by other calgunners about what the DOJ does--including contradicting their own memos--no one can really be safe from the CADOJ because the DOJ doesn't seem to know or care about their own laws and regulations. It really is just a matter of do you want to risk being dragged into court--for $20, $30, or $50 in profits, when you got 47 other states you could deal with? Seems to me that the retailers really don't have problems selling their parts kits, even with California out of the picture.
Many thanks to the AK-Build team...California's version of Khyber pass.

It's an OK price, not spectacular, and you're right, Classic Arms will absolutely not ship a Saiga to CA. I enquired about Saigas just recently and spoke to the lady who takes the orders (you know the one if you've dealt with them, the mortician's wife), and she said no.

If you want a Saiga, call Chris at Lanworld. Comparable prices, excellent friendly service.

I've ordered from them about 5 times and the results have been hit and miss. Once was for overcharging on shipping a handgun (Quoted $24, charged $42), and an Enfield which turned out to be junk (large crack in stock, bubba'ed rear micrometer sights, sand papered stock, 2 parts missing), but not described as such. Now, I try to shop elsewhere when I can.
