    JPE's "Captured Buffer Spring" assy.

Curious what people have to say about this.

Our high quality operating springs, buffers and silent action springs are critical to achieving the level of performance we demand.

$130 to have a quieter buffer spring... no thanks. Heck, isn't that endine hydraulic buffer only $100? It's been out for a while.

pretty cool, my buffer spring likes to make noise. it never bothered me though since my rifle works 100%

130 bucks to eliminate that noise? think im better off buying more ammo

Maybe not as attractive as a replacement part, but fairly attractive as a build part I think.

Looks like an interesting product. The price tag is a little much but maybe distributors will eventually sell them for less?

Well a low mass buff plus spring is $70 so its really only $55 more. Its back ordered anyway.

The lengths people will go to to eliminate a simple sound is astounding to me.

I'd love to give JP a high-five for figuring out how to easy sucker people out of $130 though. People will line up for miles for this.

Think about it for a second: It offers ZERO performance over a regular sub-$20 action spring, and it costs $130. ZERO performance.

To run a low-mass buffer you also have to run the low-mass bolt carrier. You also SHOULD be running a tunable gas block otherwise your system might not work right.

From my point of view JP only makes race gear so I was assuming the use of the LMOS. Thinking about it now, for a regular gas system this may be a pointless upgrade but then again people spend their money on all kinds of dumber things.

It was discussed here or on BE, I forget, but you can run a low mass carrier/buffer and a regular gas block. You still get less felt recoil.

There's barely any recoil on an AR as it is. If you want less recoil and less muzzle rise (the bigger issue, IMHO), then get a compensator, or a suppressor if you're in a free state.

Noise from the buffer? Just throw some lube down the buffer tube and call it a day. $130??!? Jeesh!

I think this only works for a Rifle length setup as well, not a carbine.

It works on both carbine and rifle length, comes with a spacer.. I was more interested in the comments about the gun feeling more solid like a bolt action, also removing the spring sound (doesn't really matter), just makes the gun sound and feel like it's higher quality than other rifles could make it worth the $130 to some.. If you can get it down the road used or from a distributor for under a C-note than it could be worth it..

More solid like a bolt action? Now that's just nonsense. It's still going to rattle when you shake it, it doesn't "fix" play between receivers, you still have a mass cycling back and forth...

The BS that some people will come up with just to sell a $130 part that replaces $30 worth of parts, or the people who already paid that much and want to justify it to the world and themselves is ridiculous.

That side charger got my interest, I'll have to use a captive spring buffer before passing judgement.

If you think an AR barely has any recoil you should try a Tuned JP race gun. Its like shooting an airsoft gun. Splits are much faster with a race gun over a mil-spec gun but that is stating the obvious.

Their side charger is crazy expensive.

I wouldn't knock it till i try it, an improvement on an old design is nothing to hide from, I like that companies keep coming out with new products for this platform.. If they kept your mind frame on this subject we would all have fixed stocks with no rails, etc..

I understand what you are saying about the cost and i have said the price point is high, but then again i did just buy a Magpul STR stock so i could have a rear QD sling attachment, so i might have to get one of these as well
