    J&D Machine

Just a heads up on the J&D Machine stripped lower receivers

If you get a J&D stripped lower you might check ASAP wile you have the 10 day wait to make sure the roll pin hole for the bolt stopped is drilled....2 of the 3 that friends bought where not drilled...

Don't you carefully inspect the stripped lower first before buying it?

I've had recent QC issues with JD machine, and dealing with their customer service I'd rather eat nails! IMHO I will never touch them again.

I haven't bought as much from themm since Rob "left". Their prices went WAY up, and their attitude just doesn't do it for me. I know that they are running a business, but when they are now charging $50 to build your upper after you buy it from them, when they used to do it for free just doesn't sit well with me. And their "regular price" versus their "gun show price" annoys the hell out of me. If I am going down to their factory, I don't expect to pay full retail. Not when I can go to any store in the area and get it cheaper. I don't want to have to go to a crappy gun show just to "save" $20 on one of their lowers. Between parking and admission, it costs me more. In this day and age of dropping lower receiver prices, it boggles my mind that they want to charge more and offer less service. If they are adding QC issues on top of that, I am not even going to bother with them any more. I used to be a big fanboy of theirs, but not so much anymore.

Yeah I was bummed too. My 1st AR build is JD machine and my 2nd one was going to be too (now its just the lower) I'm still using the lower I have but dam the upper I got was unacceptable! The milling looked like the the tool head was dull, there was oxidation under the anodizing causing it to peel off and the grinding under the dust cover tabs were so thin if it had any type of hit there it would brake! I called once he abruptly said he would call back. No dice I called 3 times 3 different days and no answer. I figured they were busy. I also sent emails too. Called the 2nd week same thing well call you back. By that time I'm like no f you take your junk back and exchanged it for another different brand upper! Not to mention the different upper fits 100000000000% better then jd's upper! Yeah I'm done with them in my book.

If they were closer I would have driven down and delt with them face to face but it's a bit over 150 miles one way

I live about a half mile from thier shop, I noticed a few weeks ago that thier sign is painted over. They might have moved.
