Yeah I rip back the charging handle looking at the ejection area and get a live round thrown into my face
Unless the bolt carrier does go back far enough to chamber a new round, but then is too weak to finish locking the hammer back
I will look tomorrow and test that theory myself
Then work on why that muzzle device causes it after looking into my gas port hole
I doubt its dirty as sometime last year when I put it away I really cleaned it all up, and its not been shot much since. Maybe 10 mags
In the ak world thats nothing and its always been cleaned and oiled but not the gas port hole since the last year cleaning

So I looked at the gas port hole, super clean
I can see my bore light shining through, no debris or anything
Tried to reproduce the live round getting thrown in my face by slowly pulling the bolt back but it locks down the hammer very quickly even before a round gets ejected
So I have no idea what was happening yesterday
The hammer will lock back before a shot round even ejects

Now what about someone who said the hammer could be following the bolt back or something?
I still believe its being caused by pressure because of the tip

I may have a chance to shoot tomorrow, I will bring every ak I have and try with the tip, and then really pay attention to what happens with my folder if it doesnt work

There is nothing I can do differently then I did the other day

I guess as a last resort I will bring a drill and enlarge those 3 holes in the tip because I guess im stuck with it

Unless anyone else has a suggestion or a fix
Im using a tapco trigger BTW always had worked fine

Don't drill the tip. If parallax won't return it I will. I have tested these brakes personally with THOUSANDS of rounds and on many different rifles and have never had any problems. I would also be happy to go to the range with you and try to help you find the cause of the problem. I have also sold over 100 of these with zero issues, please PM me and let me know how I can help.

okay thanks for the offer, has anyone used this on a yugo M70?
I will have a chance to shoot tomorrow and I will take a video just so I can see whats going on exactly
From the e mail I got from parallax they had only suggested a possible flex in the gas tube jamming the piston. That was all. I had responded yesterday to that but never heard back.
I cant see that happening that tip doesnt weight that much.
I will keep in touch and post back what happens tomorrow. I need to open the cover when it happens to really see whats going on.

I have one of those, my gun ran fine using it.

                  Here's a pic 69Mach1 took of my M70.

                    Well bad news
Went out shooting today to test it and a 22lr rifle and same thing happened with the ak. I have it on video. Yes there is a new round chambere and hammer is not locked back. Took it apart on the video. It did manage to shoot 2 times in a row on the video but the 3rd I had the problem.

As SJgunguy said, check the disconnector spring.

how could I use the wrong spring
its what came with the tapco trigger group plus its never jammed the entire time ive ever shot it
except for adding the tip is when it does it

Its at least 2 years old maybe older since I built it
I would of remembered that happening before

Tapco triggers do not come with any springs. Your video doesn't show you taking out the trigger group, can you take a few pictures or a video showing the trigger group being taken out and the disconnector spring?

I dont want to take it all apart, plus I left it with my dad
so I dont have it on hand right now

Whatever spring is in it is the only one I had, its worked flawlessly all this time
All I know is that tip is causing the problem

so will you take it back like you had said, im done fiddling with it
I learned a long time ago if something doesnt work right away its not worth changing out parts to make 1 item compatible when it can be easily replaced or not used at all

Im just lucky it didnt set off the other round before it was chambered that would of caused a big mess

#1 I think you should call Joe at parallax before you write them off.

#2 If your rifle has a problem and you are unwilling to check the things that the experts have told you to check, you should expect to continue have problems.

#3 I stand behind my product and if there is a defect I want to do whats right however, as myself and others have said here already there's probably another problem with your rifle (check your disconnector spring and function check your trigger group).
