need help with compm4s.

I just recently purchased a Aimpoint compm4s, and am curious if it is a real Aimpoint. everyone looks good, but on the side with it has the model and number(it says comp m4) see pics. also the red dot is not solid, it seems like a couple little dots very close together. i just use your help and input. it did come with the manual and all other little items that were supposed to be included. the number on the side of the sight matches the manula and box. any help and info would be gratly appreciated.

Call aimpoint and give them your serial number. That might help, good luck

Looks exactly like my 4s. Is this your first aimpoint?

Edit: mine says M4s. Go on the aimpoint website and try to verify through their points of authenticity. Then try registering your sight with them.

yea, first ever aim point. searched a lot of videos of the compm4s, and the red dot just does not look the same.

The dot is fine. Pictures online do not depict the true picture of the dot. Looking at mine with the naked eye describes what you see. This is how my dot looks in pictures:

ok, thanks for the help. went through all their check points and it all looks good, and registered it, must be a mistake on the side of the sight.

If you focus your vision on the target and not on the dot, it rounds out a bit.

It's real. The cluster of dots could be your vision, not the red dot. A common issue with first time red dot users. Try spinning the optic- If the clusters rotate, then call aimpoint. If they don't it's your eyes/vision.

I have two Aimpoints and the dots don't look like a perfect red little circle you see in the pictures online.

For me when I focus on the dot they look like exactly what you describe as seeing, however, when shooting you don't focus on the dot. Focus on your target and then place the dot on top of it. When I do this the dot looks closer to what you'd see in pictures online. A red circle, albeit somewhat blurry (for me at least)

This has been my experience with the 4MOA Aimpoints I own.

I do wear glasses every waking hour of my day (Well, not in the shower but you get what I mean...)

My friends Eotech, on the other hand, appeared as a more crisp dot. Probably because it was a smaller 1MOA dot (and different dot generation process.)

Due to his vision he needed to get an Eotech that didn't have the 65MOA ring, so he just has the dot.

Looks real to me. Quality and smoothness of the aluminum and the adjustment knobs give it away.

You can usually tell a knockoff by those two things. Hard to make something look as flawless as the real m4 at $30.

If you compared yours to one you'd see the difference instantly.
