    Uggghhhh... Another DPMS gripe thread...

I bought an A2 PK for the whole sight, FA, dust cover, and charging handle. So I install the Dust cover and forward assist myself with no trouble, but take the sight parts to the gunsmith near me. He opens the bag and goes over the parts and right away notices the index screw (which screws the two turntables together) which is warped... and the cast iron sight itself with has a sort of crummy finish. Now I'm not going to complain about the sight, but what I would like is the screw so I can go sight it in.

More than two weeks ago, DPMS CS said they were sending it out. (Cool, right?.) Email them again Monday and asked if they sent it out to which the reply was "we're going to send one out."

AHHHHHHH!!!!! I'm tired of holding off to go to the range for one measly screw which I don't even know if I'm going to get.

I've email DPMS before about a banged up receiver to which no reply was made, so it ended up getting sent back to Midway.

The lesson I learned is to avoid DPMS. So instead of them, I going with Palmetto and Del ton for parts.

PS I heard "Doesn't Pass Military Specifications" is what the name stands for...

=( I just bought an Oracle, I hope to have better luck with my DPMS. At any rate, its just an excuse to upgrade as I go. Hopefully your situation will be rectified quickly.

Ted Nugent likes DPMS.... Sorry they screwed you over twice now. Customer Service Reps need to be mindful of BSing a customer with a problem.

I don't know if it make much difference, but the charging handle which came with it seems very nice and sturdy...

My lower parts kit , complete upper and buttstock are all DPMS. No issues here. Just like any parts company that produces multiple parts in large quanties you are going to have some issues. Their prices are great and they are replacing your part.

I had trouble with one of their lower build kits, did not seem to go together like the others I have used. I usually use RRA or Del Ton for lower build kits.

3 lpks, 4 barrels, bunch of random parts (like delta rings and such). Never had to use their customer service

DPMS sucks and lost my business a while back when they BSed me about a rifle I ordered. Promised delivery in 8 weeks, which turned into 12 weeks, which turned in to 16 weeks because they "were waiting on bolt carriers". They couldnt just sell me an upper or a barrel because those were "8 weeks out"! Cancelled the order and about 8 weeks after the 16 weeks it wouldve taken I get a call from the shop saying my rifle was availible if I still wanted it!!!

                        F DPMS.

                          Seriously.

You could get all the parts Forged, machined, and coated in less time. Does it ever amaze you how fast the US made quality weapons during the second world war, and now today with all the improvements in design and manufacturing, people are still waiting months for their rifles?

I did like the DPMS upper design that I used for my 6.8, very thick and sturdy. Just looked like some one dropped it down some stairs.

I have 2 dpms lpks I polished my trigger break points on one and not another. The one I didn't touch is smoother then the one I polished. But everything else was fine so maybe a hit and miss?
