Build a custom 1911 from scratch?

is it possible to build a 1911 from scratch?

I'm not talking about buying a frame, slider and stuff and just put it together...

I'm talking about building the frame and stuff...

any companies that would be able to do that on some provided designs???

    anyone has done it before?

Why would it not be possible?

Your best bet is to get a 80% frame and go from there. Google is your friend and has a lot of info.

        Or the gunsmithing forum.

But yeah, people get completed but unassembled frames, or buy 80% frames and finish it themselves.

Yes, with an 80% frame you'd need to mill out the rest of it and install the ejector and plunger tube.

Or like I said, you can buy a completed frame and install the ejector and plunger tube yourself.

Cncguns.com has some awesome builds using cnc machines. I will be doing a 1911 80% after I do my AR lowers. I wish I could find a beretta 92 80% lower.

They also have the Solid Works 3D files for the frame and slide that you can download for free.

JFC... All of these non-centerfire rifle threads in the centerfire rifle section are even more irritating when one is sick with the flu.

A custom 1911? You have to know that's not a rifle.

Don't worry about it, I think it just solidified peoples opinion about someone that doesn't know the difference between a handgun and a rifle
