    M1A info

Hey all. I've been all over the net trying to figure out the going rate for a new Springfield M1A Scout Squad. I guess i can kinda go by what they're going for on Gunbroker, but I'm going to buy one in the next week or two and don't want to get ripped off.

Also, I live in the East Bay. Any nice dealers around that aren't *******s? I was thinking about going to Petaluma, I've found quite a few shops on the net up there.

    Thanks guys, take care!

I paid $1500 PPT for a used older model with 120 rounds of surplus ammo and some extra mags.

Current Scouts seem to go in stores for ~$1600, used ones for 1200-1500 depending on condition, age, and accessories.

Excellent! Thanks cfusionpm, around $1600 sounds good.

Sportsman's Arms in Petaluma is pretty good, since you mentioned P-town. Don't think I have seen a M1A Scout there or not...give 'em a call and see. Don't know any other shops there.

Keep heading north about another 1/2 hour and there is Smidt & Titoni's in Santa Rosa. Pretty sure I have seen some M1s there in the past. I posted a link to some reviews. It's kind of a mixed bag but YMMV.

Might want to call Tracy Rifle and Pistol and see what their price would be,

I got mine for ~$1500 (walnut stock Scout Squad) from Grabagun.com including $6 shipping and $35 transfer from the FFL.

Traders in San Leandro used to be the best in the Bay area when they had sales going. I heard they moved to Castro Valley. I haven't been there since so don't know how it is.

Reed's in San Jose sometimes has a really good selection but I haven't been in there for awhile either. The Reed's in Santa Clara with the indoor range has a pretty good selection. Bullseye in San Rafael has a wide selection too, and I think they have an east bay store.

Traders did move to Castro Valley, but no longer sell firearms. They do sell ammo, Airsoft stuff, camping and fishing gear. Nice guys.
Reeds does indeed have a good selection.
