.22LR Marlin Rifle Mag 15 rounder what is it for?

My mother came over to visit for thanksgiving, which ment that I had to stash every firearms related item in the appartment out of sight (she knows I have them... but does not approve of them) and its a conversation i didn't want to have during thanksgiving.

Anyway, during the cleaning/sorting/stashing process I found in with some of my ruger 10/22 mags another mag I had forgotten about.

It says Marlin part# 407746 north haven, conn .22 Long rifle Only 15 round Magazine.

any ideas what it could be for? I think I need to get another rifle

I've got a Papoose. Great rifle. It's a little small for me though but I have long monkey arms. I believe those mags will also work with the 795 model which is the non-breakdown version of the 70pss.
