AR15 - Rear Sight - for up to 200 yrds or so -

    Hey Guys,

I've done the search, but my question is I don't want to spend too much money on rear sight, since I'll be installing a scope sometimes soon. For now, I just want to install it for back up, and to sight IN the rear & front sights up to 150-200 yrds - that is if I want to shoot just irons.

Later, I want to get a tactical type scope for shots up to 600+yrds. I still don't want my iron rear sight to break apart, so I hope it's sturdy, solid, and accurate. I know people spend a lot of money on sights, but tell me what's wrong with the $30 - $45 sights listed here...

I've read some reviews on Amazon also, and some of these inexpensive sights get decent to good reviews. If you know of any better, please guide me - this is my 1st AR ever!

    Thanks in advance!

P.S: if anyone is selling a rear sight, please let me know.

They don't have one of the "Top Tier Manufacturers" names on them, their all Chinese junk blah blah blah. There are a lot of companies out there charging 3 times as much for the same basic part, is it going to make you 3 times better at shooting? Doubtfull. The way I see it, if the part does what it is supposed to do, be it a sight, magazine, charging handle, etc. then go for it. Why spend extra on a rollmark or inkblot? CBRKURT has the right idea, Matechs can be found from around 25 bucks used to around 65 new and they work. Have fun with what ever you pick up and don't let the gun snobs that are bound to show up drain your wallet.
A gun, like any other source of power, is a force for either good or evil, being neither in itself, but dependent upon those who possess it.

Just make sure its a real MAtech. There are a lot of knock off's. Also make sure you are buying a firearm sight not an Airsoft POS.

I must've been one of those lucky users of those cheap chopped A2 sights.
Mine works, even when I calibrated it for the RIBZ it still works just like the pricy ones. Just make sure to put a blue loctite on the screw to keep it from getting loose.

So am I too assume the Matech BUIS is a bullet drop compensated sight specifically for M855 (62 grain) green tip ballistics?

Anyone mapped one out after zeroing from 200-600?
