Favorite 5.56 non-steel core for the range

What's your favorite 5.56 (not .223) ammo non-steel core for the range? Also where are you getting it from locally?

Pretty sure X-Tac is steel core. Get PMC bronze. That is gtg. You can find them at gun shows. Big 5 has them too but it's expensive there. Walmart sometimes have American eagle 223 for 6 bucks for 20.

Thanks as I think the green tip PMC XTAC has a steel core. I will look for the PMC bronze in 5.56. Will also pick up some of the 223 as well.

Case of 500 rounds of Federal 55gr from Ammo Bros. Last time I bought there it was $179 + tax.

For training days, I use Federal and PMC XTAC (XM193).

You guys are wrong about X-Tac, they have XM193 non steel and like i said, $180 shipped for 500rds from ATG.. I just took them to ASR over the weekend and the RO's checked them out and all good.

All of your ammunition needs in one place. Our ammo includes military surplus, Hornady, Winchester as well as many other brands. We offer bulk and cheap priced ammo for your ammunition needs at Ammo To Go.

Ah ha, I guess bronze is their 223 designation and x-Tac is their 5.56 designation. Although I've never seen that 55gr xtac for sale anywhere locally.

Federal xm193 seems to cost the least. Its my favorite.

                              I also like using the PMC X-TAC 5.56 XM193.

Palmetto had them on sale recently for $279 + shipping for 1000 rounds.... cost me around $296 shipped & delivered
