    AR15 Buffer Retainer??? *update*

I'm at the point in my lower build where I have to put the buffer retainer spring and buffer retainer in. The problem is the buffer retainer only seems to want to go a quarter the way down before it gets stuck. It won't even spring back up. Any suggestions on why it is doing this?

    *problem solved* Thanks everyone.

Lower is BMG "Raptor" bought from lgs in Sacramento. LPK is from PSA.

Perhaps use a round file on it?

I would rather file the retainer than the lower.

Check your other springs in your LPK. You might want to sand the retainer... instead of hogging out the retainer hole.
Do you have another lower to check it with?

                wild guess,
you dont have to push the retainer all the way down. your buffer should have at least one notched out area on the end. just rotate it to clear the retaining pin. you only have to push the retaining pin down enough to get the buffer in. after you get the buffer in, just rotate the buffer so that the notch doesnt line up with the pin. its hanging up because you are pushing it down too far.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.
