Well, I was going to keep my last gun but a local guy offered me too much to refuse so I wanted another basic carbine. I went back and forth on what to get, and wasn't really being picky this time, so I started shopping around. I have had such great luck with Palmetto State Armory on here that I decided to try out one of their complete guns. I got their "G2S Strikefire" carbine. So far, I got it out of their case (which is a really nice heavy duty case for such an inexpensive gun) and it was really dry. I tend to run my AR's really wet for the first few hundred rounds so if you're seeing oil coming out of the pins, thats why. All in all, fit and finish is great, bolt looks great and all the springs and pins looked spot on. First thing I did which I always do was add a Boonie Packer 2P-TQA-C sling. They're a robust sling that has never failed me. Adjustable, and cinchable to really make it tight. They're really simple to use and built like a tank, plus made right north of us in Oregon. Then I typically use ERGO grips, but wanted to try a UTG "Ergonomic Combat Sniper Grip" (their words not mine) and its actually really nice. It has a good feel, not too plasticy, not too rubbery, and has a nice compartment in the handle. Last thing I did was just throw on a little bolt-on rail on the bottom of the plastic handguards. I want to keep this thing as light as possible and with the plastic handguards, a little aluminum rail is hard to beat for an AFG, Bipod, or even a light if you need it. Now and again I'll throw my TLR-1 on it for playing at night. The Vortex Strikefire is better than I thought it would be. Dot size doesn't seem too big and I was actually really worried about that. Seems well built, solid mount with 3 screws on each side holding it in place. The best part on it was that it came with a Geissele G2S trigger which is breaking at about 4.25lbs with an RCBS trigger pull gauge. I had to really lube everything and went through the barrel and BCG well with oil before putting it in the safe. I have a couple more tweaks I may do before calling it good, like putting EZ takedown pins, and a brake rather than the FH, but it really feels nice and the upper/lower fit was really great. I couldn't ask for more for a carbine with all these features that was only $799!!!

And NO I didn't wipe it down for pics. The black and white makes the oil look so much worse than it is in reality!
