    2 AK74 Questions??

    Question One:

I am going to start demilling an Ak74 in a few days, but dont know, how to go about taking that small rivet with a spring and clip that holds the butt stock against the receiver when the stock is folded. looks like it goes into the front trunion.

    second question:

Can i use all the internal parts from an AK47 on the AK74? meaning trigger(double hook G2) hammer, disconnect, retaining clips.

That piece is NOT a rivet. It's a pin with a slot cut in, when installed, the spring will fit into the slot and hold it in place, sort of like the FCG. Just drill out the 4 rivets holding the sheetmetal from the trunions than remove it, the latch, spring and pin will than come out.

DO NOT DRILL IT, IT IS NOT A RIVET.

+1, The retainer is not a rivet. You really just need to pry the end of the spring away from the pin and it should remove.

I guess I shouldn't have posted at 0100. Sorry about that first advise.

                Hey no problem rg,

I used, that website on the first 4 AK47. I think I can break them down and put them together with one eye and one hand. well maybe two hands, i will need one to pat myself on the back once i finish the rifle. LOL..
